Description
Pharmacy Technician
Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician performs packaging, manipulative, repetitive, and other nondiscretionary tasks related to the preparation and dispensing of medications under the direct supervision and control of a pharmacist.
Key responsibilities include filling and delivering unit-dose medication cassettes from patient profiles to nursing units while following established pharmacy procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations.

- Shift: Variable
- Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts
- Shift Type: Day/Evening rotating
- Hours of Operation: 6:00 AM–9:00 PM
- Days of Week: Negotiable
- On-Call: Call may be required for pharmacists; arrangements may be negotiable
Required Experience
- 3+ years of hospital pharmacy experience – Required
- IV compounding experience – Required
- Epic experience – Required
- Experience working in a hospital pharmacy environment preferred
Education
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent – Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience – Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- State Pharmacy Technician License – Required
- Must be licensed in the applicable state of practice (CA or OR)
- Pharmacy Technician Board Certification – Preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and package medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Fill unit-dose medication cassettes based on patient profiles.
- Deliver medication cassettes and other pharmacy supplies to nursing units.
- Assist with IV medication compounding according to established procedures.
- Accurately process medication orders and patient profiles using Epic.
- Follow pharmacy policies, medication safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support efficient pharmacy operations.
