What the Facility Wants (Requirements & Expectations)
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience required (first-time travelers accepted).
- License & Certifications: Active Iowa RN license in hand. Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA); mandatory reporter certificate; CNOR preferred.
- Radius Rule: Strict 50-mile radius rule (candidate must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license).
Clinical & Unit Overview
- Unit Details: Patient ratios of 3:1. Types of surgery include outpatient surgeries and infusion patients, infusion meds, and some titrations (blood, platelets, IVIG, IV fluids, antibiotics—no chemo).
- Charting System: Epic EMR.
- Floating Requirements: May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
