Neuro ICU Registered Nurse – Travel Contract

Lahey Clinic – Burlington, MA
Unit: Neuro Intensive Care Unit / Neurosciences Critical Care Unit (NCCU)
Start Date: 09/07/2026 | End Date: 12/05/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks | Positions: 1
Schedule: 36 hrs/week | 12-Hour Rotating Days/Nights

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Neuro ICU RN to care for critically ill neuroscience patients in an 18-bed combined ICU/PCU. The unit manages complex neurological conditions including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, neurointerventional procedures, and neurosurgical patients.

Requirements

  • Neuro ICU experience – REQUIRED
  • Level I Trauma experience – REQUIRED
  • Prior travel nursing experience – REQUIRED
  • Epic experience – REQUIRED
  • MA RN License – REQUIRED
  • BLS – REQUIRED
  • ACLS – REQUIRED
  • NIHSS – REQUIRED
  • Strong critical care and neurological patient experience
  • Must be separated from BILH for at least 6 months to be eligible

Schedule

  • 36 hours/week
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Rotating days and nights
  • Rotations occur in 4-week blocks
  • May rotate every 4 weeks or based on unit needs
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Must be flexible with rotating schedule

Unit Highlights

The NCCU is an 18-bed specialized ICU/PCU providing evidence-based care for patients with:

  • Acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
  • Neurointerventional radiology procedures
  • Neurosurgical interventions
  • Complex neurological conditions
  • Critically ill neuroscience patients requiring advanced monitoring

  • BILH coversheet required at submission
  • No locals
  • Any color scrubs
  • Must meet all travel and clinical requirements
  • Strong multidisciplinary environment involving neurosurgeons, neurointensivists, APPs, rehabilitation specialists, and other clinical disciplines.
