Ultrasound Technologist (Inpatient) | 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
- Role: Ultrasound Technologist (Inpatient)
- Openings: 2
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Start Date: ASAP (Immediate Need)
- Hours: 40 hours/week
- Interview Required: Yes (Manager contacts candidates directly)
Schedule
Primary Day Shift
- 4x10-hour shifts
- 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
- Block scheduling
Swing Shift Available
- Monday-Friday
- 1:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Weekend & Call Requirements
- Rotating weekends and call
- Weekend coverage: Saturday/Sunday, 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Call: 1-2 nights per week, 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM
- No regular overnight shifts; accommodations may be provided for overnight call staff
Responsibilities
- Breast imaging
- General ultrasound exams
- Emergency ultrasound support (works closely with the ER)
- Limited procedures including:
- Thyroid biopsies
- Lymph node biopsies
- Drain placements
- OB/GYN procedures
Coverage Areas
- Briner
- General Diagnostic Imaging Ultrasound
- Truckee
Patient Volume
- Approximately 8-10 patients per day
Radiology Team
- 7 Radiologists
Experience & Qualifications
Required Experience
- 2-5 years of ultrasound experience
- Breast imaging experience required
- Acute care hospital experience preferred
Education & Certifications
- Associate's Degree (or equivalent technical school program)
- ARDMS certification required
- BLS certification required
Technical Skills
Experience performing sonography in:
- Obstetrics
- Gynecology
- Abdominal imaging
- Small parts imaging
- Image-guided procedures
Knowledge of:
- Cross-sectional anatomy and pathophysiology
- Duplex Doppler
- Color Flow imaging
- 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasound imaging
- Post-processing techniques
Systems & Equipment
- EMR: Epic
- Ultrasound Equipment:
- Sequoia
- Philips
- Canon
