Travel RN – ER / MedSurg / Swing Bed | Critical Access

Travel Registered Nurse opportunity in a rural Critical Access hospital working across the ER, MedSurg, and Swing Bed Unit.

Position Details:

• 🏥 25-bed facility
• 👩‍⚕️ 2+ years of RN experience required
• ✈️ Previous travel experience not required
• 📋 EPIC EMR
• 👥 1:8 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 🤝 Team nursing model
• ⏰ 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM or 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• 📅 Every other weekend
• 🎉 Alternating/as-scheduled holidays, typically every other holiday
• 🚫 No call or standby
• 👩‍⚕️ Charge nurse on every shift
• 🩺 CNAs/nurse aides available each shift
• 🫁 CPAP experience
• 📈 RNs must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips
• 🔄 Floating: ER / MedSurg support
• 👕 Scrubs required; no specific color
• 🎓 3 shifts of department-specific orientation
• No clinical involvement required

Patient Population:

• Geriatric patients
• Dementia and stroke
• Diabetes
• Post-surgical/general rehabilitation
• Restorative care following acute illness
• Wound care
• IV medications and fluids
• Blood administration
• COVID
• Exacerbations of chronic illnesses
• Initial trauma care in the ER

Must-Have Skills:

• Geriatric patient care
• Dementia experience
• Stroke experience
• Skin/wound care
• Ability to titrate drips, including electrolytes and hypertensive medications
• IV antibiotics and blood transfusion experience

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• TNCC

Scheduling: Team scheduling is used. Block scheduling may be possible with advance request.

⚠️ Important Submission Requirements:

• 50-mile radius rule applies.
• Candidates cannot currently be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility affiliated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
• All RTO must be submitted upfront. Up to 7 days of RTO is permitted for a 13-week contract.
• Additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
