Travel ICU Registered Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / General Medical-Surgical ICU
Unit: 640A Intensive Care Unit
Location: Northside Hospital
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Days, schedule varies between 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Hours: 12-hour shifts
Travel Requirement: Travel position – local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a General Medical-Surgical ICU.
• Monitor patients, assess changes in condition, and provide timely interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Provide patient and family education and support.
• Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience within the specialty.
• Experience in a General Medical-Surgical ICU setting.
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system.
• Strong critical-care assessment and clinical skills.

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS
• AHA ACLS

Preferred Certifications

• CCRN
• NIHSS

Holiday Requirement

Northside Hospital holiday expectations require the traveler to work:

• 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day
• 1 minor holiday: Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve
