Position: Registered Nurse – Mom/Baby
Location: Denver, CO
Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract + possible extensions
Shift: Nights 3 days x 12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: 3 days/week
Expected Hours: 36 hours per week
Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Mom/Baby Unit. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for postpartum mothers and newborns.
- Monitor patient conditions and identify changes requiring intervention.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and families.
- Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Review and monitor treatment plans and patient progress.
- Execute delegated medical functions within scope of practice.
- Refer patients for additional evaluation or treatment as needed.
- Promote patient safety, quality care, and positive patient outcomes.
- Float to other departments within scope of competency when required.
- Participate in on-call coverage if needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Colorado or compact state RN License.
- 1+ year of experience as a RN Mom/Baby or Labor & Delivery.
- BLS (AHA) certification.
- ACLS (AHA) certification
- PALS (AHA) certification
- NRP
