Job Title: Registered Nurse - PICU
Location: Bronx, NY, 10467
Shift: Nights
Shift Length: 3*12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RN – PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) with 2+ years of recent acute care hospital inpatient experience. The ideal candidate will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients requiring intensive monitoring and complex interventions. The RN should be skilled in pediatric assessment, medication administration, ventilator management, and recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition. Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and emergency response skills are essential. The candidate will collaborate closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care for critically ill pediatric patients.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
- Perform comprehensive pediatric assessments and continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and clinical status.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other critical care treatments according to orders.
- Monitor and manage patients requiring ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other advanced life-support interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team while responding promptly to emergencies and maintaining accurate documentation.
