Direct Hire | Per Diem | Variable Day & Evening Shifts
A healthcare organization in White Plains, New York is seeking a Registered Pharmacist for a per diem position. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality pharmaceutical services while supporting medication safety, patient care, and operational excellence within a hospital setting.
Position Overview
• Per diem role
• Hospital-based pharmacy setting
• Works under the direction of Pharmacy leadership
• Provides pharmaceutical services and medication review
• Supervises Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacy Transporters as needed
Shift Details
• Every other weekend required
• Varied day and evening shifts during the week
• Holiday coverage required
• Schedule varies based on department needs
Compensation & Incentives
• Hourly range: $57.12 – $85.67 (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
• Review medication orders and patient medication profiles for appropriateness and safety
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Provide pharmaceutical services in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
• Support medication safety, patient rights, and patient education initiatives
• Participate in infection control, performance improvement, and risk management activities
• Apply sound clinical judgment and decision-making in patient care situations
• Maintain current licensure and professional competency requirements
• Support quality improvement projects and departmental initiatives
• Provide oversight and direction to Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacy Transporters
• Practice cost containment measures and operational efficiency
• Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory compliance
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree (Required)
• New York State Pharmacist License (Required)
• Knowledge of medication delivery systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
