Job Description Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Manager Opportunity – White Plains, New York
Direct Hire | Full-Time | Day Shift
A healthcare organization in White Plains, New York is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Manager for a permanent, full-time leadership role. This position offers the opportunity to oversee laboratory operations, lead multidisciplinary pathology teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive quality initiatives within a high-performing hospital laboratory environment. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is included.
Position Overview
• Permanent, full-time role
• Day shift
• Anatomic Pathology laboratory leadership position
• Responsible for departmental operations, staffing, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Direct oversight of laboratory personnel and supervisors
• Supports budgeting, strategic initiatives, and operational improvement efforts
Shift Details
• Monday – Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Alternating weekends and holidays
• 75 hours per pay period
Compensation & Incentives
• Salary range: $111,376.98 – $167,066.06 annually (based on experience)
• $20,000 sign-on bonus
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operations of the Anatomic Pathology department
• Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and accreditation standards
• Supervise scientists, cytotechnologists, histotechnicians, pathology supervisors, and laboratory assistants
• Manage staff recruitment, onboarding, evaluations, and employee development
• Coordinate competency assessments, training, and continuing education programs
• Oversee quality control programs and prepare quality reports
• Monitor turnaround times and laboratory performance metrics
• Support laboratory information systems, software utilization, and instrument interfacing initiatives
• Maintain relationships with vendors and assist with issue resolution
• Develop departmental goals, objectives, and budgets
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and hospital leadership activities
• Promote a positive culture focused on customer service, teamwork, and operational excellence
• Ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
• Minimum 4 years of relevant hospital laboratory experience (Required)
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License, Cytotechnologist License, Histotechnologist License, or Pathologists’ Assistant License (Required)
• ASCP Certification (Preferred)
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Knowledge of laboratory operations, regulatory requirements, and quality management programs
• Ability to manage staff, budgets, and departmental initiatives effectively
