Description
Certified Surgical Technologist – Operating Room
Assignment Details
- Assignment Length: 16–26 weeks
- Specialty: Operating Room / OR Tech
- Schedule: Monday–Sunday, based on facility needs
- Float: Required
- Call: Required
- Weekend: Every other weekend as needed, but no more than once per month when applicable
- Call Limit: Maximum 1 post-shift call per week
- Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend day per 4-week schedule period
- Block Scheduling: Not permitted
- Orientation: Bi-weekly, Mondays
- IVS: Interview/Virtual Screening to Offer
Mileage-Based Rate Tiers
Rates are based on direct-line mileage, not driving distance:
- Travel: 101+ miles
- Radius: 51–100 miles
- Local: 50 miles or less
Holiday Requirement
Travelers must work 2 of the following 3 holiday periods:
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas / Christmas Eve
- New Year’s Day / New Year’s Eve
Required Qualifications
- Approximately 2 years of OR experience required
- Vascular surgery experience is mandatory
- NBSTSA certification required
- BLS certification required
- CNOR preferred
- Prior travel experience preferred
- Experience in a facility of similar size and complexity required
- Trauma Level II or higher experience required
Required Clinical Skills
Strong hands-on knowledge and experience in:
- Vascular Surgery – MUST HAVE
- Orthopedics
- Robotic Surgery
- General Surgery
- ENT
- Plastics
- Neurology / Neurosurgery
Submission Requirements
- Complete work history is required.
- All employment gaps of 90+ days must be explained.
- Work history must include:
- Facility type
- Bed count
- EMR
- Relevant department/unit information
- Other applicable facility details
- All work history information must be complete before submission.
Transportation & Weather
- Public transportation is not accessible in the area.
- Reliable transportation is required/recommended.
- A personal vehicle or rental vehicle is strongly recommended.
- From November through April, vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced Certified OR Surgical Technologist with strong vascular surgery skills, approximately 2 years of recent OR experience, and experience in a Trauma Level II or higher facility. Prior travel experience is preferred. The candidate must be flexible with floating, call, weekend, and holiday requirements.
