Position Summary:
A hospital in Moreno Valley, CA is seeking ICU RNs for a travel assignment, 3x12 Nights. 3 openings currently available. This is a critical care unit with float responsibilities across ED, PACU, and IMC.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Assesses patients on admission and reassesses at least every shift, incorporating physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs
Establishes and updates individualized plan of care based on ongoing reassessment
Administers medications (oral, topical, parenteral) using the 7 rights; documents effectiveness and untoward effects
Performs treatments/procedures per nursing practice, hospital policy, sterile technique, and standard precautions
Documents appropriately across Initial Assessment, Multi-Disciplinary Care Plan, Progress Notes, ICU Flow Sheet, Medication Record, Medication Reconciliation, Critical Values, and Telephone Orders
Uses SBAR communication for all handoffs; participates in multidisciplinary care planning
Manages pain and sedation protocols; follows early mobility protocol
Follows protocols for sepsis, ventilator-associated pneumonia, pressure ulcers, and central lines
Uses Pyxis appropriately for narcotics; follows high-risk medication administration policy
Proficient with pressure monitoring, bedside cardiac monitors, dysrhythmia recognition, and specialty beds
Understands Rapid Response Team activation and Chain of Command
Accurately assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care of the critically ill patient
Floats to ED, PACU, and IMC (2500 and 3100 units) to care for ICU-level patients as needed
 

Requirements:

Active CA RN License
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
5+ years recent ICU RN experience in an acute care facility
Conscious sedation experience
CCRN highly preferred
1 year travel experience highly preferred

Shift: 3x12 Nights/Days

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Start Date: Immediate/ASAP
