Job Description

Position: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Schedule: Monday – Friday
On-Call: 2–3 days per week, including every other weekend
Local Requirement: Candidate must live more than 100 miles from the facility

Required Experience

Candidate must have more than 2 years of experience in both vascular and breast surgery. Please do not submit candidates who do not meet these requirements.

The candidate must also have hands-on experience with:

• Laparoscopic hiatal hernia procedures
• Endovascular procedures
• Breast oncology procedures
• Vascular surgical procedures
• Breast surgical procedures
• Operating room procedures and surgical case preparation

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare for scheduled and emergency surgical procedures.
• Assist the surgeon and surgical team throughout procedures.
• Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment, and supplies based on the scheduled procedure.
• Assemble scheduled and emergency case carts accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and prepare sterile fields according to surgical standards.
• Perform sterilization and proper handling of surgical equipment.
• Ensure instruments and supplies are available and properly organized before and during procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and provide appropriate instrumentation during surgery.
• Follow infection-control, sterile technique, and patient-safety standards.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent surgical cases.
• Maintain strong communication with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia personnel, and other members of the surgical team.
• Respond effectively to emergency surgical situations.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma – Required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Required
• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience – Required
• BLS Certification – Required
• More than 2 years of vascular and breast surgical experience – Required
• Experience with laparoscopic hiatal hernia procedures – Required
• Experience with endovascular procedures – Required
• Experience with breast oncology procedures – Required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to participate in required on-call rotation
