Description
THERAPY DEPARTMENT MANAGER – SLP, PT OR OT
Salary Range: $107,764.80 – $172,411.20
Position Requirements
This position can be filled by a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), Physical Therapist (PT), or Occupational Therapist (OT).
Education
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP):
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a school accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
Physical Therapist (PT):
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree if graduated prior to 1/1/2016.
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) required if graduated after 1/1/2016.
- International candidates must be graduates of an accredited school and possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree preferred.
Occupational Therapist (OT):
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree if graduated before 1/1/2002.
- Master's Degree required if graduated after 1/1/2002.
- International candidates must be graduates of an accredited school and possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Master's Degree preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of three years of professional experience as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently and participate in shared lifting of up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to manage daily therapy department operations and staff.
- Ability to facilitate program development and growth.
- Ability to provide therapy services within the scope of the individual's professional licensure.
License & Certification
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state where services will be provided.
- State licensure must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
- SLPs must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- CPR certification required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must maintain all professional licenses and certifications in accordance with expiration requirements.
- APTA, AOTA, or ASHA membership preferred.
- If assigned to drive a company vehicle, a valid driver's license is required.
- If assigned to drive a personal vehicle, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required.

Role Overview
The Therapy Department Manager oversees the daily operations of the therapy department at the assigned community hospital site. This position provides leadership and supervision to department staff while ensuring safe, high-quality therapy services are delivered to patients across all populations served.
The Therapy Department Manager is also responsible for facilitating program development and growth while providing direct therapy services within their individual area of professional licensure.
