Description

RN – PACU | Level I Trauma

 

Location: St. Louis, MO 63110
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)/Night 3x12-Hour (17:00 - 05:30)
Weekends/Holidays/Call: None
Charting: Epic
Facility: Magnet & Teaching Hospital | Level I Trauma Center
Staffed Beds: 1,273 | PACU: 38 Bays | Daily Census: 70–90

 

Requirements

  • 2+ years PACU experience in a Level I Trauma Center – HARD STOP
  • ICU/Critical Care experience required
  • BLS & ACLS required
  • Epic experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted if requirements are met
  • Candidate must live 75+ miles from facility
  • CCRN/TNCC preferred
  • Must pass Relias EKG exam

Required Clinical Skills

  • High-acuity inpatient PACU experience
  • Mechanical ventilation & artificial airway management
  • Vasoactive/vasopressor drips
  • Blood product administration/transfusions
  • Central lines & IV therapy
  • Phlebotomy and starting IVs
  • ICP/invasive monitoring
  • Cardiac monitoring & dysrhythmia management
  • Recovery from general anesthesia
  • Drain management

Required Case Experience

Must have experience with post-cardiac surgery, lobectomy, chest trauma, exploratory laparotomy (ex-lap), splenectomy, and trauma patients.

PACU cases include neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urology, electrophysiology, IR, and transplant.

Open-heart surgery and liver transplant recovery are not performed in this PACU.

 

Additional Details

  • May float to ICU, Main PACU, PCU, Med-Surg, and ER Holding
  • Pre-Op experience is required/expected, including assessments, EKG/rhythm analysis, blood draws, IV starts, transfusions, and pre-op preparation
  • RTO: Maximum 7 days
  • No weekends, holidays, or call throughout the assignment
