JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Skills
- Experience in a large (300 bed or more) critical care facility
- Experience in critical care
- Must not have worked at any OSF facility in the past year as perm staff
- Prefer RRTs, not CRTs - less likely to offer if they are CRT only unless they have the large hospital experience in all units required.
License & Certification
- Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
- BLS
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)

Role Overview
- Respiratory Therapist position caring for general med, intermediate, and ICU patients
Hospital Assignment Details
- Department: Respiratory Therapy
- Hospitalist and Intensivist available in house 24/7
Unit / Facility Details
- Primary ventilators: Servo U, Servo i, LTV
- Bipap/Cpap: Trilogy, ResMed S9
- Heated high flow: Fisher Paykel
- Team lead therapist on each shift (serves as resource, does not take assignment)
- No floating in RT
- Any color scrubs allowed; scrubs not provided
Patient Population
- Adults, pediatrics, and neonates
Responsibilities
- Use AARC point system for treatments, assign around 26-28 points per day
- Care for general med, intermediate, and ICU patients
Schedule (Shifts, Hours, Days, etc.)
- 12-hour shifts: 0630-1900 or 1830-0700
- Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday for both days and nights)
- Every other holiday
- No call or standby call requirement
- Department-specific orientation: First 12 hours (EPIC training, vent review, IPV and specialty item review), second and third 12-hour days with preceptor, then on own
- Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
Travel & Logistics
- Local rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (reduced bill rates)
- OSF call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift Exams Performed
