🧠 About the Behavioral Health Unit
Join an experienced multidisciplinary team providing inpatient behavioral health care across a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses and acuity levels.
The Behavioral Health program operates across two floors, with team members rotating between areas and gaining experience across the full spectrum of inpatient behavioral health care.
Patient Population:
- Adults
- Geriatric patients
- All major mental health diagnoses
Unit Profile:
- 52 beds
- Approximately 35-patient daily census
- Locked inpatient behavioral health setting
- 1:7 target ratio
- Wide range of psychiatric acuity

You'll care for patients experiencing a broad range of behavioral health conditions, including:
- Anxiety disorders
- Depression
- Bipolar disorder
- PTSD
- Personality disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Schizophrenia-spectrum disorders
- Substance use & chemical dependency
- Suicidal behavior
- Self-injurious behavior
- Assaultive/aggressive behavior
- Trauma- and stressor-related disorders
- Degenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s, ALS & Parkinson’s
- Congenital/developmental disorders

💻 Technology & Documentation
Epic experience is required.
You'll also work with:
- Epic EMR
- Pyxis medication dispensing
- SBAR communication
- ObservSmart patient monitoring
📋 What We're Looking For
Required
- 2+ years of RN experience
- Recent inpatient Behavioral Health experience
- Epic experience
- BLS certification
- MOAB or CPI certification
- Experience with locked inpatient behavioral health environments
- Ability to care for patients across varying psychiatric acuity levels
Preferred
- Previous charge RN experience
- IV initiation and maintenance
- Experience with congenital/developmental disorders
- Experience managing profound impulse-control issues

📅 Schedule & Orientation
Night Shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Hours: 36–48 hours/week may be available
Block Scheduling: Available
Orientation: 32 hours
Hospital orientation takes place during the first week, and travelers must be available for required classes each day.
Scrubs: Navy Blue
🚨 Important Scheduling Information
Please review the scheduling requirements carefully before accepting the assignment.
- Up to 2 pre-approved RTO requests
- Additional RTO after booking is not permitted
- Additional onsite RTO cannot be worked out after the assignment begins
- Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation of the assignment and/or DNR status
- Floating may be required to task in medical-surgical units when operationally necessary
