Description
Responsibilities include:
Pre-operative patient assessment and preparation
Admission and discharge processes
Post-anesthesia recovery care
Recovery of patients following moderate sedation procedures
PACU support and assisting as needed within the perioperative environment
Patient and family education
Note: The department does not administer moderate sedation but does recover patients
following moderate sedation procedures.
Required Experience
Candidates should have:
Recent Pre-Op and/or PACU experience
Strong admission and discharge experience
Experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients
Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment with varied specialties
Certifications Required
BLS
ACLS
PALS
Department Operations
ASU operational hours: 5:00 AM – 8:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Surgical services support a 24/7 hospital operation
Weekend and holiday call coverage required
Scheduling
StaƯ rotate through a variety of shifts including:
6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
8:00 AM – 8:30 PM
Call Requirements
Required call rotation includes:
Two 12-hour weekend call shifts every 8 weeks
Call shift options:
o 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
o 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Holiday call rotation as assigned
