Description

Monument Health Rapid City Hospital operates a high-volume, verified Level II Trauma Center featuring a main 33-bed Emergency Department supplemented by an 8-bed trauma/resuscitation unit, a behavioral health pod, and vertical care spaces. Shift coverage ranges from 12–18+ RNs on day shift down to 10–14 RNs overnight, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios between 1:1 and 1:2 for critical trauma cases, 1:3–1:5 for general ED beds, and up to 1:6 for lower-acuity fast-track care.

To qualify for a travel nursing contract here, clinicians generally need a valid South Dakota or multi-state compact RN license, at least two years of ED experience, prior travel contract history, proficiency in Epic EMR, and a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility.

Required travel credentials include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications.
