Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform PET/CT imaging procedures, assist with digital image acquisition, and provide safe, accurate patient care in accordance with clinical and departmental standards. The position requires strong technical skills, venipuncture experience, attention to detail, and excellent communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform PET/CT and nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explain the process, and provide appropriate instructions.
- Perform venipuncture and assist with the administration of radiopharmaceuticals as permitted by scope and facility protocols.
- Operate PET/CT and related digital imaging equipment accurately and safely.
- Acquire high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining proper positioning and imaging protocols.
- Review images for technical quality and ensure all required views are obtained.
- Enter and document patient and examination information accurately in computer systems.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and departmental policies at all times.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and ensure patient information is handled confidentially.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited program.
- Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Associate’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine.
- Minimum PET/CT clinical rotation completed through an approved Nuclear Medicine program.
- NMTCB or ARRT(N) MRT-General Certificate.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Ability to operate computer systems and demonstrate proficiency with digital image acquisition.
- Venipuncture experience.
