🩺 What You'll Do

As an Endoscopy RN, you'll be responsible for the safety, care, and overall nursing management of patients undergoing endoscopic and invasive procedures, with or without sedation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate individualized plans of care.
  • Monitor patient status and recognize changes from baseline.
  • Provide comfort, support, education, and reassurance to patients and families.
  • Assist with endoscopic procedures and demonstrate proficiency with the technical operation of GI/endoscopy equipment.
  • Apply and monitor aseptic and infection-control practices throughout procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians, pre-operative nurses, procedural staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, expectations, and post-procedure care.
  • Apply critical-thinking and evidence-based nursing practices to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and changes in the plan of care.
  • Assist with equipment and supply management, including appropriate documentation and inventory control.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe procedural environment.
  • Float to other perioperative departments or appropriate nursing units when needed, within scope of practice and competency.
  • Participate in weekday and weekend call coverage as required.
  • May be asked to take call during a regularly scheduled shift based on department needs.


🎯 What We're Looking For

Required

  • 1+ year of relevant Endoscopy/GI nursing experience
  • Hands-on experience with the technical/tech portion of GI equipment – REQUIRED
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
  • BLS – American Heart Association
  • ACLS – American Heart Association
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Strong patient assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient safety
