Description
Surgical Technician
Location: Normal, Illinois
Specialty: Surgical Technology

Overview
The Surgical Technician supports the perioperative team during the intraoperative period under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include maintaining a sterile environment, assisting with room turnover and setup, managing supplies and equipment, maintaining safety, and performing sterilization and disinfection tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Surgical Technician experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of completion of Surgical Technology program
- 1 or more years of surgical technology experience
Key Skills and Experience
- Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures
- Problem-solving related to procedures being performed
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, pharmacology, electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers
- Knowledge and practice of patient care concepts and perioperative teamwork
- Applies principles of sterile technique during surgical procedures
