Position Summary Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse needed for a 10-bed unit at McLaren Bay Region (404-bed acute care hospital). Responsibilities include coordinating total nursing care for a patient population ranging from newborns to geriatric patients with 4:1 patient ratios, providing around-the-clock emergent treatment for minor and severe illnesses, and charting via Paragon EMR. Hospital-provided blue scrubs required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of ED experience required
- Active Michigan state nursing license required
- Required Certifications (AHA BLS): ACLS, TNCC, and either PALS or ENPC (will accept ENPC in place of PALS)
- Compliance & Submission Rules: Local traveler policy applies a 10% rate reduction for permanent addresses within a 35-mile radius; 12 non-billable orientation hours apply; 1.1x markup for OT, holidays, and callback

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
