<h2>Pharmacy Technician – Hospital</h2><p><br /><strong>Shift:</strong> Days – 10 hours<br /><strong>Schedule:</strong> 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Wednesday; typically 6:30 AM–3:00 PM Sunday<br /><strong>Weekend:</strong> Every other weekend / Sunday required<br /><strong>Guaranteed Hours:</strong> 40 hours/week<br /><strong>Contract:</strong> 13 weeks<br /><strong>Charting System:</strong> Cerner</p><h3>Must-Have Requirements</h3><ul><li><strong>Active California Pharmacy Technician license — required</strong><ul><li>Candidates without a CA license will <strong>not be considered</strong> due to lengthy licensing process.</li></ul></li><li><strong>BLS certification — required</strong></li><li><strong>Hospital pharmacy experience — required</strong></li><li>Must be able to <strong>make IVs</strong></li><li>Experience with <strong>sterile compounding</strong></li><li>Experience with <strong>unit-dose packaging/pre-packaging</strong></li><li>Experience with <strong>Omnicell or Pyxis</strong></li><li>Ability to work independently</li><li>Candidate should be comfortable being the <strong>only pharmacy technician in the department after training/orientation</strong></li></ul><h3> </h3><p><strong>No current L&amp;D, NICU, or PICU.</strong></p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Prepare, package, label, restock, and reorder medications and supplies under pharmacist supervision.</li><li>Prepare unit-dose medications.</li><li>Deliver and retrieve medications from patient-care areas.</li><li>Restock medication rooms, carts, and automated dispensing machines.</li><li>Use proper aseptic technique to prepare <strong>non-hazardous sterile compounded preparations</strong>.</li><li>Perform daily and weekly cleanroom cleaning.</li><li>Clean hazardous and non-hazardous IV hoods.</li><li>Prepare and restock emergency medication trays and boxes.</li><li>Monitor medication inventory, expiration dates, and storage conditions.</li><li>Complete pharmacy quality-control documentation.</li><li>Respond to phone and message requests from patient-care units.</li><li>Assist with resolving medication-related issues.</li></ul>
