RN – Long-Term Care / Veterans Care

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide professional nursing care in a long-term care and veterans care setting. The RN will independently assess residents, manage care plans, administer medications and treatments, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and communicate with providers and families. The RN may also serve as a charge nurse when assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive and focused nursing assessments and monitor residents' responses to treatment.
• Develop, update, and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, injections, respiratory treatments, wound care, catheter care, and other prescribed treatments within RN scope.
• Review laboratory and consultation reports, collect specimens, assist physicians, and process orders.
• Communicate significant changes in residents' conditions to physicians, nursing leadership, and families.
• Coordinate admissions, readmissions, transfers, and hospitalizations.
• Assign, train, and supervise LPNs and CNAs and ensure resident care is completed safely.
• Serve as charge nurse/person in charge when assigned.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, quality assurance activities, committees, accreditation requirements, and ongoing education.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with facility policies and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or an Agency-approved equivalent, as applicable.
• Active, unencumbered Wyoming RN license or qualifying compact license accepted by the Agency.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Strong skills in assessment, medication administration, care planning, documentation, leadership, and communication.
• LTC, skilled nursing, assisted living, geriatric, dementia, veterans care, or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and provide direct resident care when required.

Travel & Onboarding Requirements

• Active, unencumbered Wyoming RN license or qualifying license must be in place before placement.
• Criminal background screening, including facility-required fingerprinting when applicable.
• Registry and exclusion screenings, employment verification, and professional references.
• Current TB screening and required immunization documentation.
• Facility-required drug screening.
• Completion of facility orientation and required annual competencies, including resident rights, abuse/neglect, dementia care, infection control, communication, and behavioral health.

Assignment Conditions

• Candidates generally must maintain a permanent residence more than 100 miles from the assigned facility unless an exception is approved.
• Final placement is subject to facility review and approval.
• Compensation, shift, guaranteed hours, travel arrangements, and housing/stipend details will be provided in the written assignment offer.
• Housing or stipend benefits are not guaranteed unless specifically stated in the offer.
• Must comply with facility policies, HIPAA, resident rights, infection-control standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
