Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Contract Position

Position: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Shift: 8-hour Days
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
New Graduates: Welcome

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments according to an established plan of care.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, movement, and other prescribed interventions.
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatment.
• Provide clinical support and education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Complete required forms and medical record documentation.
• Follow company policies and state/federal regulations.
• Maintain a high standard of quality care for residents and patients.
• Work under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• PTA certification through the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) administered by FSBPT.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Empathy and patience when working with patients.
• Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises.
• New graduates are welcome.

Required Compliance

• Active BLS certification through AHA or ARC.
• Active professional license/certification with online verification.
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year.
• Two professional references from the past 3 years, including one supervisor/charge nurse.
• Joint Commission Core I, II & III completed within 1 year and annually.
• Required background checks and primary-source verification.
• Pre-employment physical.
• TB testing/questionnaire.
• MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B immunity documentation or applicable declinations.
• Influenza vaccination/declination during the required season.
• Negative 9-panel drug screen.

Resume Requirements

• Work history for the last 7 years must include facility name, city/state, title, department, and employment dates.
• Agency names cannot be listed as the employer.
• Highest education level must include degree and month/year of graduation.
