• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours/week
• Trauma Level: 3
• Setting: Acute care
• BSN: Not required

Unit & Patients

• Unit size: 38 beds
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse : 9 patients
• PCA/techs are available to help.
• Patients may include:
  • Ventilator patients
  • Orthopedic patients
  • General Med/Surg patients
• May be asked to float between Med/Surg units.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience required
• EPIC experience required
• BLS required
• NY nursing license required
• COVID vaccination required
• Local candidates are accepted
• In the submission, confirm the candidate is comfortable with the 1:9 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Weekends: Required
• Holidays: Required
• Call/standby: No
• Orientation: 2 days
• Scrubs: Navy blue

Parking

• Free parking may be available in the lot across the street.

• Parking garage: $70/month.

Cancellation

• No call-off policy.
• 14 days' written notice required for cancellation.

Bottom line: This is a long-term Med/Surg night RN contract requiring 2+ years of experience, EPIC, BLS, and NY licensure. The biggest thing to confirm with the candidate is that they are comfortable with a 1:9 patient ratio.
