Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Requirements:
Active Washington State Phlebotomist License
Active Washington State MA-P License
Minimum 2 years of experience
Relevant laboratory certification: HEW / ASCP / AMT / NCA
Ability to perform specimen collection on patients of all age groups
Experience with laboratory equipment, quality control, and laboratory information systems

Responsibilities:
Perform laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, serology, blood bank, microbiology, coagulation, and urinalysis
Collect patient specimens, including venipuncture and capillary draws
Perform blood typing, blood grouping, and compatibility testing
Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment
Analyze and interpret laboratory results accurately
Perform chemical analysis of blood, urine, spinal fluid, and other biological specimens
Identify abnormalities including bacteria, parasites, malignancies, and other conditions
Monitor quality assurance and quality improvement activities
Enter, calculate, record, evaluate, and transmit laboratory data
Maintain laboratory sections, equipment, and consumables
Provide technical information regarding test results to physicians and other appropriate personnel
