CLINICAL INTERVIEW
Candidates must have experience with the following: Post Cath Lab patients/ DKA Patients/Tele/ACLS

Unit Information:
Beds: 16
Census? Average patients/day?
Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months PCU/Intermediate Care experience
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, must be strong

Required License, National Certification, Certs:  BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Technology/Equipment:
EMR: Meditech
IV Pump: Baxter
Med dispensing: Pyxis

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Medical: Sepsis, respiratory compromise, CHF, COPD, DKA, DTs, multisystem failure
Cardiac: heart caths, ablations, temp pacers, stable TAVRs, 24h post-CABG,
Drips: Insulin, nitro, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, amiodarone, levophed (rare). All drips non-titrating

Patient Ratios:  1:3

Skills required:
Experience with above patient types
General PCU skillset, IV starts, central line blood draws

Floating: If yes, where?
Travelers are first to float

Brendan House – LTAC/Nursing Home patients – orientation provided
Behavioral Health (formerly Pathways) is a department of Logan Health Medical Center that provides acute inpatient services for mental health and substance abuse – orientation provided
ICU to take care of IMC level patients

Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: every other weekend
On call? No
Holiday Expectations: Will work 2 out of 3 holidays (if applicable)
Approval of RTO: Ok to approve up to 7 days. Any more or around holidays, send for manager approval
Shift times:
Schedule cycle: The scheduler attempts to do block scheduling whenever possible, but there may be some weeks they are not able to do that or that an occasional need for back-to-back weekend, so flexibility is important
