What You'll Do Day-to-Day
As an Occupational Therapist at Hands of Hope, you will:
- Evaluate & Plan: Perform comprehensive OT evaluations based on physician referrals and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's clinical needs and functional goals.
- Deliver Skilled Interventions: Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance strength, coordination, fine motor skills, cognitive function, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Guide & Educate: Teach patients and caregivers safe home exercise programs, adaptive equipment usage, and self-management strategies to maximize independence.
- Track & Refine: Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as appropriate, and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant EMR documentation.
- Collaborate for Better Outcomes: Work closely alongside physicians, physical therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver seamless, coordinated care while maintaining HIPAA compliance and professional standards.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) License in the State of New York.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in an outpatient rehabilitation or therapy clinic.
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical patients.
