Cardiac ICU RN — Redding, CA
 

Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Cardiac ICU RN for a 30-bed CVICU at an acute care Level 2 trauma center. Patient ratios run 1:1–2, with the majority of assignments at 1:2. Must have recent experience with fresh open hearts and mixed ICU patient populations — this is a hard requirement, not just preferred.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care for CVICU patients, including fresh post-open-heart cases
• Complete a proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite, day one (pass/fail)
• Float to any telemetry or med-surg unit as needed, first to float
• Work alongside 24/7 in-house Hospitalist coverage and 24/7 RT/Pharmacy support

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience
• ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS required; PALS preferred
• Recent fresh open-heart experience required
• Mixed ICU patient experience required
• Comfortable with GE tele monitors and ventilator management

Additional Details:

• Charting: Cerner
• Charge Nurse role available on unit (does not carry a patient assignment)
• No nurse aides on unit
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend, no current holiday requirement (subject to change)
• Scrub color: navy
• 1 day of unit-specific orientation

Shift: 12hr Nights, 6:45pm–7:15am, EOW
Contract Length: 13 weeks
