Description
RN – Med Onc PCU
Facility: Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
Unit: 18 James – Med Onc PCU
Contract: Travel | 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 3x12s | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Ratios: PCU 1:3 | Med-Surg Tele 1:4–5
Beds: 36 | 24+ PCU
Charting: Epic
Weekend: Variable
Float: PCU/Med-Surg Oncology units
Requirements
- 2 years acute-care RN experience, including 1+ year PCU
- Acute-care experience must be current/consistent within last 12 months
- BLS, ACLS & NIHSS
- Epic experience
- Valid Compact/OH RN license in hand
- ACEN/CCNE accredited education
- Travel experience preferred
- Oncology experience preferred, not required
Unit / Skills
High-acuity Oncology Telemetry/PCU. Patients include solid tumor, orthopedic & thoracic oncology. Pediatric experience not required.
Must have experience with telemetry/dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, heparin, PCA, central/PICC/ports, blood products, chest tubes, ABGs, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, trachs, rapid response/code teams and IVs.
Preferred: Chemo, insulin drips, arterial lines, wound vacs, surgical drains, phlebotomy.
Compliance
- 72 hrs orientation
- 1 RTO allowed; submit with profile
- Strict compliance deadline: Tuesday before start
- Ohio fingerprinting required ASAP after booking
- 2 professional references required (1 manager/director/formal leader)
- Locals accepted at same rate
- COVID vaccine not required; Flu vaccine required – medical exemptions only
HARD STOP: Must meet 2 years current acute-care + 1 year PCU baseline.
