Description
Ultrasound Technologist – Job Details
- Shift: Day, 5×8 hours
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Orientation: 40 hours, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Daily Census: ~50 patients
- Rooms: 8
- Patient Population: Adolescents and Adults
- Call: None
- Weekends: None
- Floating: None
- EMR: EPIC – Required
- Equipment: GE – Required
Experience Requirements
- 2+ years of experience – Required
- Travel experience – Required
- First-time travelers are NOT accepted
- Exception: First-time traveler may be considered if they have more than 2 years of relevant experience
- MFM / Maternal-Fetal Medicine scanning experience – Required
- Experience performing Level II detailed anatomy scans – Required
- High-Risk OB and Obstetrics – Required
- Outpatient experience – Required

- Chronic hypertension
- Gestational diabetes
- Fetal growth restriction
- Fetal abnormalities

RTO / Attendance Rules
- Maximum 7 days RTO for auto-approval
- No RTO during the first week
- No holiday RTO
- All RTO must be approved before signing
- No additional RTO after booking
- Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR
- Must be available during the first week because orientation/start date may change
Holiday Requirement
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
Licensure
- NC or Compact license required
- Pending NC/Compact license can be submitted
Other Important Requirements
- Candidate must complete required lab testing within 48 hours of signing
- Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying
- Local candidates within 50 miles receive a lower rate
- References can be pending at submission
- Must complete pre-start modules before starting
- Modules are completed online using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge

The ideal candidate is an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with 2+ years of experience, travel experience, ARDMS OB/GYN, BLS, EPIC experience, GE equipment experience, and strong MFM/high-risk OB experience, especially Level II anatomy, growth, BPP, Doppler, NT, and perinatal scanning.
