Shift Matrix: Night Shift (NOC) | 19:00 – 07:30 (3x12-Hour Shifts)
- Schedule Quality: Mandatory Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Work On Holidays (WOH) requirement.
On-Call Requirement: None.
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week
🚫 Absolute Minimum Qualifications for Submission Review:
- Licensure Mandate: Active, unencumbered Connecticut (CT) RN License held in hand at submission.
- Experience Baseline: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated Telemetry or Progressive Care (PCU) clinical nursing experience.
- Mandatory Certifications: Active NIHSS Certification and active AHA BLS / AHA ACLS credentials.
- Clinical Skills Required: Demonstrated competency in continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring, lethal cardiac rhythm interpretation, titratable cardiac infusions, and post-cardiac catheterization/intervention nursing care.
Job Summary & Clinical Scope
A Hospital in Norwich, CT is seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a 12-week night-shift contract on E4 Cardiology. Managing acute adult cardiac populations, the RN will conduct specialized telemetry monitoring, administer complex cardiovascular drug therapies, evaluate post-procedural cardiac patients, and respond rapidly to acute telemetry rhythm changes or neurological deteriorations.
- Cardiac & Telemetry Monitoring: Evaluate continuous multi-lead telemetry, analyze cardiac rhythm strips, identify complex dysrhythmias, and execute immediate interventions for acute dysrhythmias or chest pain protocols.
- Pharmacologic Management: Safely administer, titrate, and monitor specialized cardiovascular infusions (anticoagulants, antiarrhythmics, nitrates, and inotropes/vasopressors per unit scope).
- Specialized Clinical Care: Deliver care for cardiac populations presenting with acute coronary syndromes (ACS), CHF exacerbations, atrial fibrillation, post-cardiac cath/PCI recovery, pacemakers, and acute stroke risks using NIHSS guidelines.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate closely with cardiologists, hospitalists, electrophysiologists, and cardiac cath lab teams to ensure smooth patient progression and discharge readiness.
