Respiratory Therapist / Respiratory Care Practitioner

Position Overview

Provides basic and critical respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients. Works independently while also providing supervision to others as delegated. Delivers respiratory care to patients with respiratory conditions in accordance with physician orders, department policies, and established standards of practice.

Responsible for accurately completing patient documentation, electronic medical records (EMR), flow sheets, and charges for all services provided. This position is represented by SEIU.

Position Requirements

• Shift: Rotating
• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program – Required
• Experience providing respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients
• Ability to work independently and supervise others as delegated

Licenses & Certifications

• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License – Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) – Preferred
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Required at time of hire or within 90 days
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required at time of hire or within 90 days
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Required at time of hire or within 90 days

Facility-Specific Certifications

• BLS from an approved vendor per AH policy – Required
• AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS – Required
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS – Required
• AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS – Required
