MICU RN Contract Summary

Specialty: MICU / ICU RN
Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3×12s — 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
First-time travelers:  Not accepted
Locals:  Accepted at the same rate
 

Key Requirements

• 2 years recent/current MICU or acute-care experience
• Acute-care experience must be current and consistently worked within the last 12 months
• Travel experience required
• Epic experience required
• Valid Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at submission
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Strong ICU skills including:
  • Ventilator management
  • IV starts
  • Arterial lines
  • Central/PICC lines
  • CRRT
  • BiPAP/CPAP & HFNC
  • Blood products
  • Continuous IV sedation
  • Cardiac/vasoactive drips
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation/management
  • ABGs
  • Multisystem organ failure
  • ETT/NT suctioning

Unit Details

• 24 beds
• Average daily census: 23
• Ratio: 1:2
• Patient population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Common cases: COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleed, sepsis, oncologic emergencies, pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune disorders, drug overdose.
• Equipment/procedures include mechanical ventilation, CRRT, pulmonary artery catheters, arterial monitoring, chest tubes, central lines, bronchoscopy/endoscopy, plasmapheresis, etc.
