Schedule: Day Shift – 8x5, Monday–Friday
Duration: 26 Weeks

Position Summary:

Lawton Indian Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient/ambulatory clinic setting. The LPN will support providers with patient assessment, clinical procedures, medication administration, care coordination, patient education, and documentation while working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients in an outpatient/ambulatory clinic setting.
• Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and other pertinent clinical information.
• Assist providers with patient examinations, treatments, and minor clinical procedures.
• Administer medications, injections, and treatments in accordance with provider orders and established protocols.
• Perform clinical tasks such as wound care, specimen collection, blood draws, and point-of-care testing as applicable.
• Monitor patients and promptly report abnormal findings or changes in condition to the provider.
• Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health measures.
• Assist with care coordination, referrals, follow-up appointments, and other outpatient services.
• Respond to patient questions and assist with telephone triage within the scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Follow facility policies, infection-control procedures, and applicable IHS standards.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Provide compassionate, culturally respectful, and patient-focused care to the population served by the Indian Health Service.

Required Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted LPN/LVN license.
• Previous outpatient or clinic nursing experience required.
• Strong patient assessment and clinical documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ambulatory environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Need BLS(AHA)
