Description
PICU/CICU Float RN – Atlanta, GA
Facility: Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA)
Campuses: Arthur M. Blank Hospital & Scottish Rite
Start: ASAP only
Experience: 2+ years preferred in Pediatric ICU or Pediatric CICU
License: Active Georgia or Compact RN license in hand at submission
Certifications: BLS + AHA PALS required
EMR: Epic preferred
First-Time Travelers: Accepted with strong qualifying experience
Unit & Patient Care
- Pediatric critical care float position
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- Patient populations: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents
- Level I trauma facility experience required
- Typical ICU drips, medications, and vasopressor experience required
- Servo ventilators utilized throughout the ICUs
- RRT support available in each ICU
If ICU census does not require coverage, RN may also float to general care units.
Scheduling
- Every weekend required
- Holiday flexibility is mandatory
- Candidate must be available to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas, depending on staffing needs
- Do not submit candidates requesting both Thanksgiving and Christmas off
- All RTO must be provided at time of submission
Important Compliance Requirements
- CHOA is a nicotine-free campus
- Cotinine/nicotine testing required
- Flu vaccine required — no exemptions
- COVID vaccine not required
- Candidate must sign offer within 24 hours
- GA release required within 24 hours of signing
- Labs must be completed within 48 hours
- License verification due within 72 hours
- Hard compliance deadline: 7 business days before start — no exceptions
- Failure to meet required timelines may result in the offer being rescinded
Recruiter Notes
Strong fit for an experienced PICU/CICU RN who is highly flexible with floating and scheduling. Candidates should be comfortable working across multiple pediatric ICU specialties, floating between campuses, and taking general-care assignments when critical-care census is low.
