Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Schedule: 3 shifts/week | 36 hours/week
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
 

Position Overview

Morristown Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Medical Step-Down/Intermediate Care to join the K3 Step-Down Unit. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring intermediate-level care and will collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in a medical step-down/intermediate care setting.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to promote quality patient outcomes.
• Deliver evidence-based care while maintaining a patient- and family-centered approach.
• Demonstrate professionalism, respect, involvement, dignity, and excellence in all aspects of patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and utilize electronic medical records and computer systems effectively.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
• Float to other units as needed based on facility requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Intermediate Care / Step-Down RN experience.
• Strong patient assessment skills.
• Experience in Intermediate Care Nursing and Step-Down Nursing.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
