🔥 NIGHT-SHIFT BURN ICU (BICU) RN CONTRACT – PREMIER MAGNET CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Akron, Ohio. Operating within the specialized 12-bed regional Burn Center at Akron Children's Hospital, this position offers a structured 3x12 overnight schedule (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). The unit serves a unique mixed patient population (~65% adult / ~35% pediatric), managing complex burns, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and severe wounds. If you are a critical care nurse skilled in mechanical ventilation, vasopressors, arterial lines, and moderate-to-deep sedation looking to earn $2,542/week with max tax-free stipends, this assignment is built for you!

- Hourly W2 Rate: $36.00/hr (36 regular hours)

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Block scheduling is not available.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule block).
- On-Call Requirements: Standby call rate is $7.50/hr ($125.00/hr call-back rate).
- Clinical Scope & High-Acuity Care: 12-bed specialized Burn Center caring for acute thermal/chemical/electrical burns, complex wound care, overnight burn triage, and Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. Interventions include extensive dressing changes under moderate or deep sedation, tracheostomy/mechanical ventilator management, arterial lines, vasopressors, central lines, and multi-system organ dysfunction support across both adult and pediatric patients.
- Floating Requirements: Float required during low census to competent units across the hospital (PICU, Transitional Care Unit/TCU, Adolescent, and School Age units).
- EMR System: Epic EMR.
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical BICU / Critical Care RN experience plus prior travel nursing experience is strictly required. Proven experience with vasopressors, sedation, mechanical ventilation, and arterial lines is mandatory.
- Education: BSN degree is strictly required (Magnet-designated facility policy).
- Licensure: Active Ohio RN License or active Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly required in hand at submittal.
- Certifications Required: * American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- TNCC is preferred.
