Title: Certified Surgical Technologist - First Assist (CST-FA) / Vein Harvester

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: Days, 10-hour shifts (0645 – 1715), 36–40 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Target Start Date: August 31, 2026
Facility & Unit Overview
- Unit Specifics: 10 main OR suites; patient ratios 1:1; each room staffed with 1 circulator and 1 surgical technologist.
- Charting System: Meditech.
- Scheduling & Call: Rotate call on weeknights and weekends; no floating required.
- Procedures Performed: Craniotomies, spine fusions, liver resections, Whipple procedures, and MAKO total joints.
- Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensure: Must be a licensed First Assist with the Board of Medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required.
- Required Skills: Proficient in Orthopedics, Ortho Trauma, da Vinci robotic systems, and Neurosurgery.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
