Job Title: MS-Tele Float Pool Registered Nurse (Zone 3 - Denver Metro Area)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and flexible Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract in the Denver, CO region (Zone 3). This role requires floating among four distinct facilities within a 60-mile radius of the Denver City Center. Candidates must be comfortable working across diverse adult and geriatric populations and adapting to dynamic daily scheduling models.

Position Overview & Expectations

  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Shift Details: 12-Hour Shifts (7:00–7:00), 6-week schedules built by leadership.
  • Weekend Requirement: 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
  • Holidays/Call: Holiday rotation as needed; rare call/standby for low census.
  • Float Requirements: Must float across Zone 3 facilities and various unit acuity levels (MS-Tele, Stepdown/PCU, ICU low-acuity holds, or as a CNA if needed).
  • Attendance Policy: Maximum of 3 missed shifts per 13-week contract. A 2-week notice is strictly required to avoid cancellation penalty fees.

Scheduling & Floating Structure

Schedules are published 4–6 weeks in advance. Assignments operate under two formats:

  • Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week (with potential mid-shift facility floating).
  • Option B (Just-In-Time / JIT): Facility assignment given 1–2 hours prior to shift start via phone call.

Zone 3 Facilities (Denver Area)

Candidates must reside at least 60 miles away from ALL listed facilities and maintain housing accessible to the entire zone:

  1. OrthoColorado Hospital – Lakewood, CO (10 miles from City Center)
  2. St. Anthony Hospital – Lakewood, CO (10 miles from City Center)
  3. St. Anthony North Hospital – Westminster, CO (12 miles from City Center)
  4. Longmont United Hospital – Longmont, CO (40 miles from City Center)

Clinical Details & Unit Ratios

  • Patient Ratios: 1:5–6 (based on patient acuity).
  • Patient Population: Adult to Geriatric patients across Med-Surg, Telemetry, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Ortho, Trauma, Bariatrics, ENT, Psych/Detox, and Post-Surgical units.
  • Support Staff: Dedicated Charge Nurse (generally non-bench/no assignment) and Nurse Aides available.
  • Drips & Equipment: Heparin titration, set-rate drips, Vents, CPAP, and BiPAP.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent MS-Tele RN experience (Prior Neuro experience preferred).
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required.
  • Licensure: Active Colorado RN License or Compact State RN License (Driver's License required at submission).
  • Orientation: Must be physically in-state during orientation week. Includes 1–2 days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor.
  • Dress Code: Any color scrubs.

Hiring & Administrative Process

  • Interview: Candidate interview conducted directly with the MedSol Clinical Team (no Unit Manager interview required).
  • Time Off Requests (RTO): All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to the start of the assignment.
