First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Spokane, Washington. Operating within a high-volume 61-bed Level IV regional NICU at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center (a 629-bed teaching facility and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center), this position offers a structured 3x12 overnight schedule (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). - (Facility is also open to 48-hour approvals for nurses seeking higher weekly hours)
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (EOW) or variable rotation as needed.
- On-Call Requirements: NO ON-CALL REQUIRED! Enjoy your scheduled days off free from standby duty.
- Clinical Scope & Patient Acuity: 61-bed regional referral NICU with an average daily census of 52 patients. Ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity. Caring for neonates <24–28 weeks gestation through post-term. Advanced therapies include therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), UAC/UVC line care, arterial lines, vasopressors, blood transfusions, pre-cardiac surgical management, and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS). Ventilator settings managed collaboratively with 24/7 dedicated respiratory therapy.
- Floating Requirements: Travelers float first to like acute care units (only caring for patients under 2 years of age on pediatric floors).
- EMR & Dress Code: Epic EMR; any scrub color permitted; free parking on-site.
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Level III or Level IV clinical NICU RN experience is required. First-time travelers accepted!
- Licensure: Active Washington RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License must be in hand at submission (facility honors active compact licenses).
- Certifications Required: * Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Rehire Policy: Former permanent employees of any non-Swedish Providence facility are eligible to travel after a 3-month separation.
