Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med Surg / Tele (Neuro MS/TELE)

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week (12-hour Nights, 1900–0730)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Target Start Date: September 28, 2026
Key Facility Policies & Floating Rules
- Radius Rule: Strict 40-mile radius rule; no local candidates accepted.
- Floating & Assignments: May float to the general medical unit as needed. 22-bed neuro unit with patient ratios typically 1:4 (charge nurse carries a patient assignment).
- Weekend & Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
- Dress Code: Solid navy blue scrubs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of strong Med Surg/Tele experience and at least 1 completed travel assignment required. Neuro experience required (patient population includes CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, cerebral angiograms, and medical overflow).
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Illinois (IL) RN license in hand at submission.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Skills & EMR: Recent EPIC charting experience required. Must be comfortable with strict neurological assessments, basic tele interpretation, heparin drips, blood administration, and drain management.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
