Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist — Blood Bank
Department: LAB – MT/MLT – Blood Bank
Setting: Acute care
Contract: 26 weeks / 182 days
Guaranteed hours: 40 hours/week
Shift: 8-hour nights, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM
Weekends: Required, as scheduled
Holidays: Required, as scheduled
Call/standby: None
BSN: Not required
Scrubs: No designated color; scrubs or business casual. Closed-toe shoes required.
Core responsibilities
This is a Blood Bank–only position. The candidate will not be working as a generalist and will not perform phlebotomy.
Expected experience includes:
- Blood Bank experience
- Epic Beaker
- Sunquest
- NEO Iris instruments
- Night-shift blood bank operations
Education / licensing
The posting indicates the candidate needs a High Complexity Testing Personnel (HCTP) license or Trainee License issued by the West Virginia Department of Health, plus one of the following educational/experience pathways:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology / Medical or Clinical Laboratory Science, or
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science, or
- 30+ years of qualifying experience under the CLIA grandfathered exception
Certifications
