MedSurg RN – Rapid Response Contract – Arlington, TX

Unit: 3 Tower
Contract: 6 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
Beds: 30
Ratio: 1:6
EMR: Meditech
Call: None
Float: Required based on hospital needs
RTO/Scheduling: No RTO or special scheduling requests allowed

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS required and must be included in the submission packet
• MedSurg or acute care RN experience required
• Previous HCA experience preferred

Unit Overview

Fast-paced 30-bed MedSurg unit caring for a variety of acute medical and post-surgical patients.

Common patient types include:

• Post-op cholecystectomy
• Cystoscopy with stent placement
• Pain management
• CIWA / alcohol withdrawal patients
• General acute-care MedSurg patients

Staffing

Typical staffing at full census:

• 1 Charge RN
• 4–5 bedside RNs
• 2 PCTs
• 1 HUC
• 1–3 sitters depending on patient population

Equipment

• Hoyer lifts
• Sara Stedy
• Bladder scanners

Ideal Candidate

Best fit is an experienced MedSurg/acute care RN who is comfortable with 1:6 ratios, a fast-paced environment, floating based on hospital needs, and a short high-hour assignment.
