Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, Washington (1100 9th Ave)

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: 36 hours per week (12-hour shifts. Start times vary: 0700, 0900, 1100, 1300, 1500, 1900).
- Contract Length: Travel contract
- Tax Note: Medical Solutions auto-deducts the 1.75% Washington state tax, which can be re-added back into the pay package.
- Floating Incentive: Additional $20/hour when required to float outside the primary facility to Region 1 sister hospitals (St. Anne Hospital in Burien or St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way).
Key Facility Policies & Floating Rules
- Floating & Region 1: Primary location is Virginia Mason Medical Center, but travelers may be required to float across Region 1 (St. Anne Hospital and St. Francis Hospital) based on facility need.
- Submission Requirement: A copy of the candidate's driver's license is required at the time of submittal. Clinical profile review followed by a manager interview.
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; some holidays expected. No call or standby requirement. Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required (prior travel experience completing 1–2 assignments preferred). Heavy behavioral health population; must be comfortable with psych/behavioral patients.
- Licensure: Active Washington RN license.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required in hand.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
