Respiratory Therapist

Job Overview

  • Location: Portland, Maine
  • Employment type: Travel
  • Shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Weekly hours: 48
  • Guaranteed hours: 36
  • Contract length: 17 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maine
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience

Clinical Experience

  • Must be able to work with adult acute and critical care patients
  • Must be able to float to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, and the emergency department

Preferred Experience

  • NICU/PICU experience
  • Cardiothoracic experience

Schedule Notes

  • Call required: 2 hours for the oncoming shift

Unit Details

  • Patient ratios: 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care
  • Team covers the entire facility with 14–16 respiratory therapists

  • Respironics V30 and V60
  • Trilogy line
  • Airvo
  • Vapotherm

Additional Notes

  • ACLS is preferred
  • NRP is required for NICU care
  • Scrubs are provided or flexible
