Description
Respiratory Care Practitioner / RRT
Location: Pagosa Springs, Colorado
Specialty: Cardiopulmonary
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- 8 consecutive 10-hour shifts, Wednesday through Wednesday
- 40 hours per workweek
- Overnight on-call coverage is required during the work rotation
- Must be able to meet a 30-minute on-call response time
Required Qualifications
- Valid Colorado Respiratory Care Practitioner license in good standing
- Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- NBRC credential
- Current AHA BLS
- Current AHA ACLS
- Current AHA PALS
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Experience in an acute care setting
- ABG draw and analysis experience
- Mechanical ventilation management experience
- Noninvasive ventilation management experience
- Respiratory equipment troubleshooting experience
Preferred Experience
- Pulmonary Function Testing experience, including spirometry and/or box pulmonary function testing
- Walk testing and methacholine challenge testing experience
- Cardiac diagnostic testing experience, including Holter monitors, stress testing, and stress echocardiograms
Role Overview
- Provides respiratory assessment, treatment, education, and diagnostic services across the hospital
- Works with providers and the multidisciplinary care team
- Cares for both adult and pediatric patients
- Responsibilities include respiratory treatments, mechanical and noninvasive ventilation management, respiratory equipment troubleshooting, patient assessments, and pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing
