Description
We are seeking an experienced Travel RN – Interventional Radiology to provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and minimally invasive IR procedures. The RN will support multiple Interventional Radiology locations as assigned and collaborate closely with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and minimally invasive Interventional Radiology procedures.
- Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including medical history, medications, allergies, vital signs, and consent verification.
- Prepare patients for procedures by providing education, completing safety checks, and coordinating care.
- Provide intra-procedure support as a circulating nurse or moderate sedation nurse.
- Continuously monitor patient status, vital signs, oxygenation, and response to medications during procedures.
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation according to organizational policies and clinical protocols.
- Collect, label, document, and ensure proper handling and transport of specimens in accordance with facility and laboratory requirements.
- Provide post-procedure recovery care and monitor patients for potential complications.
- Ensure patients meet appropriate discharge criteria.
- Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and post-procedure follow-up support as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists, schedulers, and interdisciplinary teams to maintain efficient workflow and excellent patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Ensure medications, supplies, and emergency equipment are available and ready for use.
- Follow applicable regulatory, safety, and organizational standards.
Required Certifications
- ACLS – Required
- BLS – Required
- PALS – Required
- Moderate Sedation – Preferred
Qualifications
- Active RN license required.
- Interventional Radiology, procedural, critical care, or related nursing experience preferred.
- Experience with moderate sedation preferred.
- Strong patient assessment, monitoring, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
- Must be comfortable supporting multiple IR locations as assigned.
